It helps to know what to do first on a new web site. Here are some suggested first steps:

  1. Make sure you read and understand the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  2. Tell us about you! Adding information to your public profile helps other users understand how to interact with you. For example, information about how you plan to handle delivering or shipping items can be very helpful.

  3. Think about your STUFF (and the different ways you can use Swampum™ to get it under control)!
    • Things you no longer want--give them away instead of keeping or discarding them
    • Things you use infrequently but want to keep--lend them to people you trust
    • Things you need occasionally but don't want to own--borrow from a friend, neighbor or colleague
    • Things you want but would rather not buy new--see if someone else has it and wants to pass it along
  4. Tackle the STUFF!
    • Add items to your inventory
    • Find things you want that are available from other users
    • Start transacting
  5. Get involved!
    • You're already a member of your ZIP code group; consider creating or joining groups for your school, office, neighborhood or any community where you're involved
    • Invite your friends and family to join; you can earn up to 2500 bonus points when your invited users complete their first transactions
    • Add friendships by connecting with other users
  6. Play favorites! Learn how to organize your availability schedule so your added items are visible to your many relationships when you want
